The short version

Rosette collects what it needs to run your kennel, to fix things when they break, and to see which parts of the game people actually use. It does not sell your data, and it does not build a profile of you to sell to anyone else.

You can turn off the analytics and crash reporting at any time in Settings → Privacy, on the device you are using.

What we store, and why

Your email addressIt is your account. Used to sign you in and to send password resets. If you sign in with Google we receive your email, name and profile picture from Google.
Your kennel and your dogsYour handler name, kennel name, affix, motto, your dogs and their records, your coins and gems. This is the game — it is stored so your kennel is there when you come back, and parts of it (your handler name, kennel name, dogs you list for sale or at stud, leaderboard position, your kennel's profile page) are visible to other players.
Anonymous usage statisticsWhich screens you open and that an action happened — a crate pull, a show entry, a litter. Also rough shape and progress: how long you have had your kennel and how many dogs are in it, both as broad bands rather than exact figures, your kennel tier, and whether you have ever bought anything. Sent with counts and fixed labels only, never with anything you have typed. Used to find where people get stuck, and where they stop.
Crash reportsIf the app crashes or hits an error, we receive the error, where in the code it happened, and basic device information. Used to fix it.
Bug reports you sendOnly if you use Settings → Help us out. We receive what you wrote, your kennel name, and the diagnostics the form shows you before you send: the screen you came from, the app version, your platform, screen size, theme and the last error the app saw.
Notifications, if you turn them onOnly if you switch them on in Settings → Notifications. Your device registers with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and we store the registration token it gives us, which platform it is, and the time zone your device reports — the time zone so that nothing arrives in the middle of your night. The token identifies a device, not you: it is not your name, your email or an advertising ID, it changes on its own, and turning notifications off deletes it. Messages pass through Google's servers to reach your device, and one of your dogs' names can appear in one — “Tally is six months old” — so it may be readable on your lock screen.
PurchasesIf you buy something, Google Play processes the payment and we receive a receipt to confirm it. We never see your card details.
AdvertisingRewarded videos are served by Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID. See “Ads” below.

What we never collect

Your analytics and crash data never include anything you typed — not your handler name, kennel name, your dogs' names, your affix, your motto or your email. That is enforced in the code, not just intended: the reporting layer drops any value that is not a number, a true/false, or one of our own fixed labels.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your files, or anything from other apps. If you turn notifications on we store the time zone your device reports — “Europe/London”, not where you are — and it is used for one thing: not waking you at three in the morning.

Ads

If you are in the UK or the EEA we ask you first. The first time the app is ready to show an ad you will see Google's consent form, and nothing is requested until you have answered it. You can change your answer at any time from Settings → Privacy → Manage ad choices. If consent has not been given, no ad is requested at all.

Watching a rewarded video is always optional and always your choice — nothing in the game requires it. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier to choose and measure them, and which acts as an independent controller of that data. Google's own privacy policy covers what they do with it: policies.google.com/privacy.

You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings, which applies to every app on the device, not just this one.

Who else sees it

Rosette runs on Google Firebase — authentication, database, hosting, analytics, crash reporting and abuse prevention. Purchases go through Google Play. Ads come from Google AdMob. We do not share your data with anyone beyond the services named on this page.

If you send a bug report, it is copied into our private issue tracker on Atlassian Jira so it can be worked on. It is not published and is not shown to other players.

Where it is stored

Your account and game data are held in Google Cloud in London (europe-west2). Some of the services above — analytics, crash reporting, ads — are operated by Google globally and may process data outside the UK under Google's own safeguards.

How long we keep it

Your kennel is kept for as long as your account exists. Analytics and crash data are kept for as long as Google's default retention allows and are not linked to anything beyond an anonymous account identifier. Bug reports are kept until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable period after, so a fix can be traced back to what prompted it.

If a moderator ever has to act on your account — renaming a kennel, a dog or an affix that someone reported — we keep a record of it: what was done, which kennel it affected, when, and which administrator did it. Those records are kept indefinitely, and deleting your account does not remove them. An audit trail is only worth having if it is complete: it is how we can show later that a moderation decision was made properly, and by whom. No other player can see it. It is not in the automated download because it names the administrator as well as you — ask us and we will send you the entries that concern you.

Your choices

Turn off analytics and crash reportingSettings → Privacy. Takes effect immediately, on that device.
Delete your accountSettings → Your account, or supatgames.com/delete-account in any browser. It happens immediately, and it removes your account, your kennel and every dog still in it. Anything already anonymised cannot be traced back to you and so cannot be picked out and removed. One thing is kept on purpose: if a moderator ever acted on your account, that record stays — see “How long we keep it”.
Get a copy of your dataSettings → Privacy → Download my data. It is a JSON file, prepared when you ask, holding your kennel, your dogs, your listings, your daily tasks, your feed, the reports you have filed and your sign-in record. It also lists what is deliberately not in it and why — bug reports copied to Atlassian Jira stay there as the developer's working record, analytics are not readable per person, and Google Play holds the payment record for anything you bought. Anything in that list can still be asked for by email.
Object, restrict, or complainYou have the usual rights under UK GDPR. If you are not happy with how we have handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Rosette is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
